Dream Works Studios is a motion picture company formed by partners Steven Spielberg and The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. The studio currently has a worldwide distribution deal with the Walt Disney Studios, which helps the market and distribute their films also.

Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and David Geffen originally founded Dream Works Studios in the year 1994 on October the 12th. One of the studios first forays into the entertainment marketplace was the long running sitcom “Spin City.” Under the guidance of Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald (1994-2005), the co-heads of the motion picture division, Dream Works released its very first feature film in September 1997, which was an action Thriller called “The Peacemaker,” starring George Clooney and Nicole Kidman. This was then followed by Steven Spielberg’s first film for the studio “Amistad,” which was then nominated for four Academy Awards, including: Anthony Hopkins for best supporting actor. Spielberg also received his eighth Directors Guild of American nomination for his first film “Amistad.”  Since then after the creation of the first Dream Works feature film, another 31 feature films have been made the latest being “Home” released in 2015.
